Food that fits.
Diabetes Pantry Project connects food companies and community food pantries to get diabetes-friendly food — and the know-how to use it — into the hands of neighbors who need it.
"Managing diabetes means paying close attention to what's on your plate. But for families facing food insecurity, the foods available at a pantry often aren't built with diabetes in mind. We heard this directly from pantry clients, and we built a project to change it."
How it works
1
We identify the need
Community food pantries across Los Angeles tell us where the gap is.
2
We match it with supply
Food companies donate nutritious, shelf-stable products suited to diabetes management.
3
We make it usable
Pantries receive simple, culturally relevant nutrition guidance alongside the food, so it gets eaten — not left on the shelf.
Volunteer-led. Community-informed. Just getting started in Los Angeles — and building our first partnerships now.
